What are Guarantees of Origin (GO)
Guarantees of Origin (GO) are electronic certificates issued by the GSE – Energy Services Manager. Each GO certifies that a share of electricity has been produced from renewable sources such as sun, wind, or water.
In simple terms: for every 1 MWh of renewable energy fed into the grid, a unique certificate is generated. This allows the origin of the energy to be traceable and links customer consumption to an equivalent renewable production.
Why Deloa uses GOs
Certifying your consumption
GOs allow us to demonstrate that the electricity supplied to customers is covered by an equivalent amount of energy produced from renewable sources. In this way, the “green” component is not a generic label: it is certified coverage.
Supporting the energy transition
The use of GOs supports the system that values production from renewable sources and promotes its development. It is a concrete way to strengthen the path towards a cleaner energy mix.
Ensuring transparency and security
The GO system is managed by public bodies and regulated by precise procedures: each certificate is unique and can be used only once, reducing the risk of unverifiable communications or double counting.
How Deloa verifies and assigns green energy
At the end of each year, Deloa proceeds to cancel the Guarantees of Origin in the official GSE register for a volume equal to the green energy supplied to its customers.
This step is fundamental because:

it definitively assigns “green” coverage to Deloa customers;

it prevents the same titles from being reused or resold;

it ensures consistency between the energy supplied and the certification.
